Lakers Baseball drops pair vs Gannon University JV

On Tuesday (4/25), the Lakers played host to the Gannon University Knights JV baseball team.  For the Lakers, it became a bullpen day as the team looked to use many pitchers in an effort to give many players opportunity and to keep many pitchers sharp. The Lakers accomplished what they needed in that regard; however, they lost both games by the scores of 7-4 and 11-1. In game one, the Knights used a key three run fourth inning that was highlighted by a Lakeland error. In game 2, the Knights used a seven run fifth inning to help the win.  That inning was fueled by Lakeland issuing three walks and committing another error in that frame. On the day, Alex Medina led the way by going four for six with a double and an RBI. Cody Pittenger was three for five with a double, triple, and an RBI. Mitchell Dragon and Brandon Harlan each had two hits on the day.

The Lakers are scheduled to travel to Cuyahoga Community College this weekend to take on the Challengers in a league match-up. Game time Friday is scheduled for 3 p.m. and Saturday's games are scheduled for 1 p.m.
