Lakers fall to Erie on the road, 90-76

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - Lakeland Community College men's basketball played better this time against Erie Community College but it wasn't enough in a 90-76 loss on the road. 

With the non-conference loss, the Lakers fall to 1-7 overall and remain at 0-2 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference. 

Trey Granger had a solid 8-for-13 shooting night and led the Lakers with 18 points. Chandler Fointno turned in a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Cordell Dupree and Ty Howard each had 14 points in the loss. 

Lakeland kept things close in the first half, even after allowing 51 points in the first 20 minutes. Granger scored 13 of his 18 points in the first while Dupree also scored in double digits with 10 points but the Lakers trailed 51-44 at the break. 

Howard had a strong second half for Lakeland with 12 points but the Lakers were unable to gain any ground on Erie and suffered a 14-point loss. 

Lakeland will look to get its first road win when it travels to face Jamestown Community College on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 3 p.m.
