PERRYSBURG, Ohio - Lakeland Community College trailed by 15 points at halftime but played much better in the second half but its comeback attempt fell just short in a 93-88 loss at Owens Community College Wednesday night. 

With the loss, the Lakers fall to 4-18 overall and 3-10 in Ohio Community College Athletic Conference play. 

Lakeland had four players in double figures, led by 22 points by Jeramie Burge. Aaron Pate finished with 20 points, Trey Granger scored 19 points and Chandler Fointno ended the game with 16 points and seven rebounds. 

Lakeland played a little sluggish in the first half and trailed 54-39 at halftime. The Lakers played much better in the second half and nearly completed the comeback. Lakeland fell just short of completing the comeback as Owens held on for the five-point victory. 

Lakeland will hit the road again on Saturday, Feb. 24 at Clark State Community College at 1 p.m.
