JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – Lakeland men's basketball held an 11-point lead at halftime and was able to hold on for a 71-68 victory over Jamestown Community College Saturday afternoon.

Tyreke Johnson logged a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds to help Lakeland improve to 9-2 overall after the non-conference victory. The Lakers remain 2-1 in Ohio Community College Athletic Conference play.

John Dawson finished with 17 points in the win while Rob Brown also reached double figures with 11 points.

Johnson had it going early on with nine points in the first half while Deven Musselman sank three 3-pointers to also score nine as Lakeland jumped out to a 41-30 lead at the break.

Offense did not come as easily in the second half as Lakeland only made seven of their 24 made field goals in the second half. Dawson scored 11 in the second half while Johnson scored nine as Lakeland was outscored 38-30 in the second half but held on for the three-point victory.

Lakeland will next play in the Thunderwolves Classic at Niagara County Community College to face Genesee Community College on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 3 p.m.
