Lakeland opens spring season in John Carroll Invite at Black Brook

MENTOR, Ohio – Lakeland men's golf braved the cold weather to play in the John Carroll Invitational Tournament held at Black Brook Golf Course Saturday afternoon.

The Lakers entered three players in the tournament and was led by Dylan Boff who shot a 78, just five strokes off of the individual medalist.

Ben Kirsh finished with the second-best score for Lakeland with an 83. Scott Kolodny had a couple tough holes and finished with a 93 to round out the scores for the Lakers.

John Carroll A took first place in the tournament with a 302 and Baldwin Wallace University A finished second with a 308 as a team. Jimmy Clark from Baldwin Wallace and John Schour from John Carroll finished with a low score of 73 and Clark won the medalist honor in a playoff.

Lakeland will next play against Columbus State Community College in a tournament held at Bent Tree Golf Club on Monday, April 9 for a 1 p.m. start.
