PARMA, Ohio – Lakeland Community College men's soccer was able to tie the match against Cuyahoga Community College in the 86^th minute but it was Cuyahoga answering right back in the final minute to take a 4-3 victory away from the Lakers Wednesday afternoon.

The last five minutes saw Cuyahoga take a 3-2 lead then Lakeland answered back to tie the game in the 86^th minute only to have Cuyahoga come right back and score in the final minute for the win.

After the loss, Lakeland falls to 4-3 overall and 2-3 in Region XII play.

Carlos Pesso did prove to be difficult to stop again for the Lakers as he scored two goals to lead the way. Brendon Mullen scored the other goal for Lakeland. Olivier Fevrier Sildor added two assists while Uri-Malcolm Young added the other assist in the loss.

The first half was not very good for the Lakers as Cuyahoga jumped out to a 2-0 lead at the half while Lakeland lacked energy on offense. The second half was much better as Pesso put the Lakers on the scoreboard in the 66^th minute after an assist from Young to get within 2-1.

Mullen tied the game up in the 69^th minute after an assist from Sildor to make the score even at 2-2. Lakeland had many other opportunities to score in the second half but missed on a couple of one-on-one opportunities.

Cuyahoga kicked off the crazy final five minutes with a goal in the 85^th to take a 3-2 lead. Cuyahoga only led for a minute as Pesso answered with a goal after an assist from Sildor to knot the game up at 3-3. Cuyahoga got the last laugh with a goal in the final minute to take the 4-3 victory.

Lakeland will look to bounce back with a home match on Saturday, Sept. 16 against Muskegon Community College at 1 p.m. The Lakers previously beat Muskegon 3-2 on Aug. 26 in Michigan.
