Lakeland survives a barrage of shots from Ancilla to for a scoreless tie, 0-0

KIRTLAND, Ohio – Lakeland Community College men's soccer took on shot after shot from Ancilla College but the Lakers defense was up to the task as the game ended in a 0-0 tie after 110 minutes of soccer Saturday afternoon.

With the tie, Lakeland moves it overall record to 6-3-2 and its Region XII record to 3-3-2.

Ancilla controlled much of the possession and fired off 28 shots with 16 of those shots being on goal.

Aaron Hafer had an impressive game with 16 saves as he was able to keep a clean sheet in goal for the Lakers.

Lakeland only had four shots, two of which were on goal. Carlos Pesso had a great chance at a goal late in the second period but was turned away by the keeper. Brendon Mullen also had a great scoring opportunity in the first overtime period that was deflected. Maksim Spasiuk and Olivier Fevrier Sildor had the other shots for Lakeland in the tie.

Lakeland will look to complete an undefeated weekend when it hosts Jackson College on Sunday, Sept. 24 at 1 p.m.
