Lakeland falls on the road after Ancilla scores the first four goals, 4-2

DONALDSON, Ind. - There were no goals scored when Ancilla College and Lakeland Community College men's soccer met up previously in the season. This time, Ancilla had the offense going early and scored the first four goals on its way to a 4-2 victory over the Lakers Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Lakers fall to 11-5-1 overall and 5-5-1 in Region XII play.

Ancilla was able to outshoot Lakeland 22-6 and that helped Ancilla to a 4-0 lead in the second half.

Trailing 4-0 with less than 20 minutes remaining, Lakeland did get some offense going as Oliviver Fevrier Sildor was able to score in the 71st minute after an assist from Carlos Pesso to get within 4-1. The scoring tandem of Pesso and Sildor was reversed for the second Laker goal in the 73rd minute. Pesso's goal helped Lakeland get within 4-2 with 17 minutes remaining but the Lakers were unable to get any closer as Ancilla held on for the victory.

Lakeland will next play its final Region XII game on Sunday, Oct. 15 at Jackson College at 11 a.m.
