Lakeland's season ends in semifinal loss to No. 2 Schoolcraft, 3-0

LIVONIA, Mich. - Lakeland Community College men's soccer knew it would have its hands full with No. 2 Schoolcraft College and kept the Ocelots away from the goal for nearly the entire first half but School craft was able to break through in the 43rd minute and rolled to a 3-0 victory in the NJCAA Region XII tournament semifinal Saturday afternoon.

With the season-ending loss, the Lakers finish the season with a 14-6-1 record. Lakeland won nine more games in 2017 than the 2016 team that finished 5-14.

Schoolcraft added two goals in the second half and outshot Lakeland 17-6 but the Lakers had a handful of opportunities to score.

Carlos Pesso had two shots on goal and Brendon Mullen had one shot on goal. Franklin Durugbor had two shots while Uri-Malcolm Young also had a shot in the loss.
