On Saturday, the Lady Lakers traveled to Batavia, New York to face the Genesee Community College Cougars. The Lakers came away with two victories as they defeated the Cougars 5-2 and 8-6. In game one, Justine Barnes started things off with a leadoff double. Jamie Matso followed with a bunt single which advanced Barnes to third base. Emily Woods followed with a sac fly to put the Lakers up 1-0. The Lakers would go up 2-0 in the third inning as a Jamie Matso single was followed by a Woods RBI double.

With the Lakers lead cut to 2-1 in the top of the fifth inning, the Lakers would score twice more. After a Barnes lead-off walk, J Matso would again single putting runners on the corners. Matso would steal second base and both would score on an infield fielder's choice from Woods. The Lakers went up 5-1 in the top of the sixth as Laura Matso would double and then later score on a fielder's choice from Amber Leiderbach. McKailyn Woodward pitched the complete game victory for the Lakers as she allowed four hits and two earned runs over seven innings.

In game two, Emily Woods led the offensive attack as she went three for four with an RBI and three runs scored. Justine Barnes and Danae Scoville also had two hits each. This game was knotted at six after seven innings. The teams went back and forth to get to this point as the Lakers strung hits together to score their runs while the Cougars did most of their damage with home runs. In the eighth, Scoville singled to lead-off the inning. She scored the go ahead run on a Woods double. McKailyn Woodward would later single home an insurance run to give the Lakers an 8-6 lead and the eventual victory.

Sydney Aey started on the mound for the Lakers and went two innings giving up foour earned runs. Abbe Mowrer relieved and pitched 4.1 innings giving up two runs (one earned). Woodward picked up the win pitching the final 1.2 innings and striking out two batters.

The Lakers will stay on the road as they are scheduled to play at Niagara County Community College in a noon doubleheader Sunday.
