Lakers softball sweeps NCCC

On Sunday, the Lady Lakers were in Niagara Falls, New York to face the Niagara County Community College Thunderwolves. The Lakers rolled and came away with two victories by the scores of 9-0 and 8-0. In game one, Lakeland collected 12 hits from eight different players. Abbe Mowrer led the way with three hits while Jamie Matso and Sydney Aey each had two hits. The big inning for the Lakers was a seven run the inning. Lakeland started the inning with six consecutive hits and later added two more to put this game away. McKailyn Woodward pitched the complete game shut out allowing three hits while striking out 14 batters.

In the nightcap, the Lakers had eight timely hits to score their eight runs and come away with the victory. Justine Barnes led the way with two hits and four RBI's while Jamie Matso also collected a pair of hits. Barnes knocked in two runs with a double in the third inning and then two more with a single in the fourth to key the win.

Sydney Aey picked up the complete game victory allowing one hit while striking out seven batters.
