Lakeland softball adds pitching depth by signing Asianna Settles and Morgan Englund

KIRTLAND, Ohio – Lakeland softball recently added pitching depth with the signing of Asianna Settles and Morgan Englund.

Settles pitched at Fostoria High School prior to her senior season of high school before moving to Columbus and playing for Thomas Worthington High School. Asianna previously visited Lakeland and was impressed with the softball team and the nursing program that the school offers.

"I am looking forward to Asianna providing us with leadership in the circle along with her tremendous skills," said Lakeland head coach Jeff Morganti.

Englund is another player that can provide pitching depth and play at second base. She played softball at Fremont Ross High School with fellow Lakeland signee Braelyn Horn.

"Morgan gives us middle infield depth as well as another arm in the circle," Morganti said. "She is excited about attending school and being a member of our program."

Lakeland softball recently finished up its 2018 season with a 17-15 overall record and 4-8 in Ohio Community College Athletic Conference play.
