Lakeland’s Cameron Malkamaki signs to play for Lake Erie softball

Lakeland's Cameron Malkamaki (Painesville) signed to continue her softball career at Lake Erie College.

Malkamaki finished a successful freshman season for Lakeland softball in 2018 with a .394 batting average, which was second-best on the team. She also belted four home runs and knocked in 39 runs last spring.

Malkamaki was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-East Region second team as a utility player.

Not only did Cameron did it done on the softball field but she also shined in the classroom as she was named third team NJCAA Academic All-American and Ohio Community College Athletic Association all-academic team.

Malkamaki and her teammates will begin the 2019 season for Lakeland on Feb. 16 against Patrick Henry Community College and Surry Community College on the road.
