The Lakeland softball team played host to the Edison State Chargers today in their season finale. TRhe Lakers dropped game one 4-1 before scoring 11 first inning runs in route to an 18-7 win.  Game 1 was a pitchers duel as neither team mustered much offense early. After scoring single runs in the 4th and 5th innings, the Chargers led 2-0 until the Lakers scored a run in the home half of the 5th inning. Megan Szczecinski hit a 1-out single before Kennedy Danna ripped a double. Sczcecinski would later score on an RBI-single from Peyton Trick. Unfortunately for the Lakers, they were unable to capitalize on their remaining scoring chances while surrending 2 more runs (one unearned). 

Lakeland managed just 5 hits as Peyton Trick went 2-3 with an RBI. Kennedy Danna and Midaliz Alvarez both added a double and Megan Szczecinski added a hit in the loss. Lily Seay took the tough luck loss as she threw a complete game and allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits while striking out 2 batters. 

In game 2, the Lakers erupted for 11 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning to pace the 5-inning win. Carmen Alvarez started things for the Lakers by reaching on a Charger error. Peyton Trick followed with a single before Astianna Coppes hit an RBI-single. Midaliz Alvarez followed with a walk before Trick scored on a RBI-single from Lillyan Agostine. Reagan Hayes then knocked in 2-runs with an RBI-double before Megan Szczecinski hit an RBI-double scoring Agostine. Kennedy Danna then worked a walk to load the bases before Carmen Alvarez hit a grand slam. Peyton Trick then singled to start the Lakers offense again. Midaliz Alvarez singled before Lillyan Augustine walked to load the bases again for the Lakers. Reagan Hayes stepped to the plate and knocked in 2 more runs with an RBI-single. In the second inning, the Lakers would tack on 3 more runs as they took advantage of singles from Lily Seay, Kennedy Danna, and Carmen Alvarez. Peyton Trick would hit an RBI-single and M. Alvarez would pick up an RBI on a fielder's choice.  The Chargers would score 4 runs in the top of the 3rd inning and the Lakers would respond by plating 4 more runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Kennedy Danna got the Lakers going with a 2-out single. Carmen Alvarez then singled before Peyton Trick followed with a single that was also misplayed by the Chargers allowing 2 runs to score. Astianna Coppes was then walked and Midaliz Alvarez singled to load the bases. Lillyan Agostine followed with a 2-RBI single to close out the Lakers scoring.

Peyton Trick went 4-4 with an RBI and picked up the win pitching the complete game allowing 7 runs (6 earned) while scattering 10 hits. Carmen Alvarez (HR) collected 3 hits and 4 RBI's while Reagan Hayes picked up 2 hits and 4 RBI's. Lillyan Agostine finished her afternnon 2-3 with 3 RBI's while Midaliz Alvarez added 2 hits and a RBI. Kennedy Danna and Lily Seay each collected 2 hits while both Astianna Coppes and Megan Szczecinski finished with a hit and RBI in the Laker win.
