Emily Strobel is in her first season as an assistant softball coach at Lakeland Community College.

Previously, Strobel served as the Mentor High School varsity softball coach from 2012-15, helping lead the Cardinals to a pair of district championships (2013, 2014), as well as a regional title and state final four appearance in 2013.

In college, Strobel was a standout for the Lakeland softball team, being named a team captain, garnering All-Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) honors, as well as earning an All-Region nod in 2007. Strobel finished the season with a team-leading seven home runs, to go along with 30 RBI and a .250 batting average. She was also named an Academic All-American first-team selection, was tabbed to the dean's list on four occasions and graduated magna cum laude with an associate of arts degree in 2008.

Strobel went on to Bowling Green State University where she was a five-time member of the dean’s list and graduated magna cum laude in 2011 with a bachelor of science degree in middle childhood education.
