No. 18 Lakers bounce back by beating Jackson on the road, 87-69

JACKSON, Mich. - No. 18 Lakeland Community College women's basketball bounced back after suffering its first loss of the season by beating Jackson College 87-69 Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Lakers improve to 9-1 overall and stay at 2-0 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.

Armani Jackson was able to lead the way with 25 points and also reached double figures in rebounds. Delesha Jackson and Jayla Sanford each scored 13 points while Brianna Williams and Ziona Williams finished up with 12 points.

Lakeland started off with a pressuring defense that causes the guards for Jackson to turn over the ball. That pressure defense led to points for the Lakers and the eventual 18-point victory.

Lakeland will next host Niagara County Community College on Saturday, Jan. 6 at 1 p.m.
