HIGHLAND HILLS, Ohio - After not playing a game in nearly 20 days, Lakeland Community College women's basketball shook off a little rust and beat Cuyahoga Community College 64-54 Wednesday night. 

With the win, the Lakers reach double figures in wins with a 10-3 record and improve to 3-1 in Ohio Community College Athletic Conference play. 

Armani Jackson put in the work and earned a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Delesha Jackson put in the hustle plays and grabbed four steals while scoring 18 points in the win. 

Lakeland looked a bit rusty at the beginning with the full court press from Cuyahoga causing problems. Aryana Jackson was able to drive into the lane for a layup to give the Lakers a 14-11 lead just before the end of the first quarter. 

Armani Jackson scored the first five points for Lakeland in the second quarter as the Lakers eventualy built a 24-14 lead after a free throw from Ziona Williams with 4:02 left in the half. Cuyahoga outscored Lakeland 8-1 to finish the half to get within 25-22 at halftime. 

Lakeland was able to grab a little of the momentum in the second half to pull away for the 10-point victory on the road. 

Lakeland will be back home on Saturday, Jan. 20 for a conference game against Clark State Community College at 1 p.m.
