Armani Jackson earns third OCCAC player of the week honor for Lakeland

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Columbus State Community College swept the D-III OCCAC Basketball Player of the Week laurels for the third straight week with Destiny Wooten and Matthew Gierhart earning back-to-back honors while Lakeland Community College's Armani Jackson and LiDonta Hicks-Gentry of Sinclair Community College were named the D-II recipients.

Jackson had a busy week, logging over 100 minutes on the court in a three-game week for the Lakers. She averaged a double-double with 15.3 points and 12.3 rebounds for the week. Jackson added in 2.3 steals and 1.7 blocks to her week's stat line. Lakeland went 2-1, receiving double-doubles from Jackson in both victories while shooting 68% (13-19) during those two wins. This marks the third weekly award for Jackson this season, but first since Week 3 (Nov. 20).

Lakeland women's basketball currently holds a 15-6 overall record and are 7-4 in Ohio Community College Athletic Conference play. The Lakers only have three games left in the regular season with their next game on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at Owens Community College at 5:30 p.m.
