Lakers come up short at Muskegon, 9-0

MUSKEGON, Mich. – Lakeland women's soccer was unable to get a shot off while Muskegon Community College fired over 30 as the Lakers suffered a 9-0 defeat Sunday afternoon.

With the loss, Lakeland falls to 0-2 overall and in Region XII play.

Muskegon scored two goals in the first half and seven in the second half to secure the victory.

Lakeland keepers were very busy all afternoon as Elena Logan (Geneva) picked up the start and earned seven saves while Erica Wayts (Painesville) earned 11 saves in the loss.

Lakeland will look to pick up its first win in history with a road trip on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at Mercyhurst North East at 5 p.m.
