Cincinnati State breaks game open with four goals in second half over Lakers, 7-1

KIRTLAND, Ohio – Cincinnati State Technical & CC broke open a 3-1 game at halftime with four goals to cruise to a 7-1 victory over Lakeland women's soccer in the programs first-ever home game Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, Lakeland falls to 1-3 overall and remains 0-2 in Region XII play.

The lone bright spot on offense was Maria Sill (Geneva) who scored a goal in the 26th minute off of a free kick to bring the Lakers within 2-1. After that, Cincinnati State added one goal just three minutes before the half to make it 3-1 at the break.

Cincinnati State created more space in the second half with four goals to cruise to the victory.

Lakeland will look to bounce back against Harford Community College on Sunday, Sept. 16 for a game beginning at 1 p.m.
