Lakers battle to a scoreless draw versus Lorain County, 0-0

KIRTLAND, Ohio – Lakeland women's soccer was outshot by Lorain County Community College but the Lakers were able to keep Lorain out of the goal as the Lakers battled to a 0-0 tie Wednesday afternoon.

With the tie, Lakeland's overall record 1-4-1 and its Region XII record remains at 0-2.

Erica Wayt (Painesville) made six saves to earn a shutout in goal. Cayleigh Megyesi and Lora Stewart each had a shot on goal for the Lakers but Lakeland was unable to score in 110 minutes of soccer.

Lakeland will get back into Region XII play with a home match on Saturday, Sept. 22 against Lake Michigan College at 1 p.m. Lakeland lost 3-0 to Lake Michigan to open the season on Aug. 25 and Lake Michigan is 2-2 in Region XII.
