Shorthanded Lakers roughed up by Owens, 3-0

KIRTLAND, Ohio – Lakeland volleyball was shorthanded and Owens Community College took advantage with a 3-0 sweep Wednesday evening by the score 25-12, 25-8 and 25-6.

After the loss, Lakeland's overall record falls to 4-18 overall and 2-8 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference standings.

Erynn Daubenmire (Eastlake) earned seven kills while Olivia Scott (Willoughby) dished out 12 assists and earned nine digs.

Morgan Smart (Perry) and Daubenmire each had three kills in the first set, which turned out to be the most competitive set for the Lakers. Owens still won 25-12 in the first and carried that momentum over into the following sets for the sweep.

Lakeland will next travel to face Lorain County Community College on Thursday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m.
