The Lakeland volleyball team traveled to Fremont, Ohio tonight to face the Terra State Titans in their season finale. The Lakers battled in a close match before eventually falling to the Titans 3-1 (23-25, 25-22, 15-25, 22-25). This seesaw affair continued to show the Lakers abilities as they were able to play the OCCAC's top Division II team extremely tight again. Coach Miozzi commented, "It was a really nice group this year. In general, they were fun to be around; hard-working, good attitudes, and just good people. We continued to prove throughout the season - which is always a goal. Though the number of wins wasn't what we had hoped for, they battled everyone. We pushed every team and started to come on strong the past few weeks. I really enjoyed being around them."
Erica Merth led the way offensively for the Lakers as she finished with 20 kills and 6 solo blocks. Maisie Burlison also had a strong night finishing with 13 kills and 7 solo blocks. Madison Tatka finished out her Lakeland career with 9 kills. Tatianna Matuz added 27 assists in the match.
