Men's Region 12 Tournament | Women's Region 12 Tournament
Both Lakeland men's and women's basketball teams have secured spots in the upcoming 2025 NJCAA Great Lakes District C Championship tournament, scheduled to be held March 6-9 at Ballenger Fieldhouse at Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan.
Under the direction of Terrell Eskridge, the Lakeland men's basketball team (19-7) enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed and will face No. 2 seed Macomb C.C. (24-4) in the semifinals on Thursday, March 6 at 11 a.m. The winner will advance to face either No. 1 seed Mid Michigan College (24-4) or the winner from the Lansing (17-12)/Glen Oaks (15-13) quarterfinal matchup in the championship game on March 8.
Guided by Ornette Gardenhire, the Lakeland women's basketball team (12-11) also secured the No. 3 seed and will compete against No. 2 seed Jackson College (23-5) in their semifinal game on Friday, March 7 at 11 a.m. A victory would propel them to the championship game on March 9, where they would meet either No. 1 seed Mid Michigan College (24-4) or the winner from the Southwestern Michigan (20-9)/Grand Rapids C.C. (10-12) quarterfinal contest.
"Having both our men's and women's programs qualify for the regional tournament is a testament to the hard work our student-athletes have put in all season," said Scott Barlow, Lakeland Director for Athletics. "We're proud of their accomplishments and look forward to competing at the highest level in Flint next week."
First-round games for both tournaments will be played at higher-seeded institutions on March 4, with the remainder of the regional tournament being hosted at Mott Community College (March 6-9). The winners of the Region 12 tournament advance to the NJCAA National Championships, March 17-22.
