Lakers lose to Jackson and Waubonsee, 14-2 and 10-0

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Lakeland baseball had a hard time keeping opponents off the scoreboard as it lost to Jackson College 14-2 and Waubonsee Community College 10-0 Friday.

With the pair of losses, Lakeland falls to 1-11 overall.

Jackson 14 – Lakeland 2

Lakeland dug itself a 9-0 hole and was unable to dig itself out in a 14-2 loss to Jackson.

Osvoldo Balbuena did have an RBI for Lakeland while Mike Zeuli hit a triple and Tyler Knapp nailed a double and scored a run.

After trailing 9-0 after three innings, Lakeland did get on the board in the fourth with two runs to get within 9-2. Jackson did add five runs in the fifth to end the game early.

Waubonsee 10 – Lakeland 0

Lakeland was unable to score and earned only four hits in a 10-0 loss to Waubonsee.

Zeuli and Max Von Gemmingen each hit a double while Brendon Perez and Cole Wajda hit a single in the loss.

Lakeland will play its final doubleheader in Florida on Saturday, March 16 against Kirkwood Community College beginning at 9 a.m.
