Lakers drop two games at Gannon JV, 13-5 and 17-7

ERIE, Pa. – Lakeland baseball had a hard time keeping Gannon University JV from scoring in a doubleheader sweep by the scores of 13-5 and 17-7 Tuesday afternoon.

With the losses, Lakeland falls to 4-26 overall and stays at 3-9 in Ohio Community College Athletic Conference play.

Gannon JV 13 – Lakeland 5

Gannon JV scored 12 runs in the firth three innings as Lakeland fell 13-5 in the first game.

Brendon Perez and Seth France each had two RBIs while Michael Sapp provided the other RBI.

After giving up three runs in the opening inning, Lakeland battled back with two in the second but Gannon JV built up a 12-1 lead after three innings to cruise to victory.

Gannon JV 17 – Lakeland 7

Lakeland held a 7-3 lead in the middle of the fourth inning but was unable to hold onto that lead as Gannon JV charged back for the 17-7 victory.

Riley Grieco brought in three runs and hit a single while Perez and Osvoldo Balbuena each brought in two runs in the loss.

Lakeland will get back into conference play with a trip to face Eastern Gateway Community College on Friday, April 12 for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
