Th Lakeland baseball team played host to the Terra State Titans today and earned a split at Laker Field. The scores of the game were 7-5 in favor of the Titans and 15-5 for the Lakers in the nightcap. In game 1, after the Lakers surrendered 2 runs in the top of the first, Lakeland came back with a run of their own in the home half. Alarik Sierra got it started with a single before a Seth Cervello walk. Later on the inning, Jose Fichera would pick up an RBI-single. The score would remain tied until the Titans tacked on 2 more runs in the top of the 5th inning. Lakeland would counter with 1 run in the 5th inning. Seth Cervello would double before Rafael Nakandakari sacrificed Cervello to 3rd base. Connor Wilt would follow with an RBI-double. The Titans would counter with 3 more runs in the 6th inning before the Lakers picked up another run in the home half. The run scored when Ray Cowen doubled and advanced to 3rd base on a Julien Bourgeois fielder's choice, Cowen would later score on a sac fly from Alarik Sierra.
Alarik Sierra's would go 2-3 with 2 RBI's while both Julien Bourgeois and Connor Wilt would double and add an RBI. Jose Fichera finished 1-3 with an RBI and Seth Cervello, Ray Cowen, and Estevan Ruiz picked up a hit in the defeat. Seena Amani took the loss on the mound as he pitched 1 inning and allowed 3 runs (2 earned).
In game 2, the Lakers rebounded and scored a run in the home half of the 1st inning to knot the score at 1. Alarik Sierra singled before a Seth Cervello single. Sierra would later score on an Estevan Ruiz sac fly. After allowing 4 runs in the 2nd inning, Lakeland answered by scoring 2 runs in both the 3rd and 4th innings. In the 3rd inning, Seth Cervello walked before Jose Fichera singled. Ibrahim Marrero would later score Cervello on a fielders choice before Brayden Fellouzis had an RBI-single. In the 4th inning, Seth Cervello singled before Jose Fichera walked. Estevan Ruiz would later hit an RBI-single before Ibrahim Marrero also singled and knocked in a run.
The Lakers blew it open in the 5th inning as Ray Cowen hit a lead off double. Seth Cervello hit a 2-out single before Julien Bourgeois and Andhris Martinez singled to load the bases. Alarik Sierra was then hit by a pitch to force in a run. Jose Fichera would follow with a 2-RBI single before Ruiz would load the bases with another walk. Ibrahim Marrero would then walk to force in a run before Brayden Fellouzis hit a grand slam. The Lakers would tack on 2 more runs before they cruised to the victory.
Brayden Fellouzis led the way as he collected 3 hits and 5 RBI's while Estevan Ruiz picked up 2 hits and 2-RBI's. seth Cervello added 2 hits (2B)while Jose Fichera went 2-4. Ray Cowen, Ibrahim Marrero, and Alarik Sierra also picjed up hits in the win. Aiden Limtury picked up the win in game 2 pitching 3 innings and allowing 2 runs on 1 hit while striking out 3 batters.
Next Up: The Lakers will travel to Cleveland on Friday (4/19) to face doff against the B & S Bobcats on (4/19) at League Park. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
