Lakeland sophomore pitcher Jackson Smith (Delhi, ON/Holy Trinity Catholic) earned his second straight Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Pitcher of the Week award after shutting down Clark State in 7-0 victory on Saturday, March 22.

Smith threw seven complete innings against Clark State, limiting his opposition to just three hits. The righty struck out four batters and did not allow a run during his time on the mound.

Over Smith's last two starts, he's pitched two complete games totaling 12 innings, allowing just six hits and two runs. He also struck out eight batters in the outings. Overall, Smith stands with a 2-1 record on the season.

The Lakers will return to the field Friday, March 28, at Cuyahoga Community College for a doubleheader with the Triceratops. Lakeland stands at 7-9 on the season under head coach, Howie Krause.
