Lakeland basketball players volunteer at Sam Dekker Basketball Clinic

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – Lakeland men's basketball players participated as volunteers in the 2018 Sam Dekker Basketball Clinic on Saturday.

Allen Sims, Chandler Fointno, Isaiah Washington and Ronald Vann attended the clinic with assistant coach Matt Vespa.

The camp served youth from the area from the Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland and Empower Sports. The Lakeland basketball players helped the children learn essential basketball skills and interacted with the youth.

The Lakeland players put on a dunk contest and attempted to guard Cleveland Cavaliers player Sam Dekker, which did not end well. As a new member of the Cavalier for the 2018-19 season, Dekker imparted some advice to the Lakeland basketball players.

Lakeland men's basketball will open its season on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m.
