The Lakers men's basketball team traveled to Fremont, OH to play the Terra State Titans on Wednesday night. The Lakers continued their strong play of late and came away with a convincing 93-78 victory over the Titans. Lakeland improves to 16-6 with the victory while Terra State falls to 5-10. Lakeland had trouble scoring in the very early going as they were held scoreless for the first few minutes of play. Their tenacious defense kept them in the game though until they could finally find their offensive rhythm. Once they started, they did not relent as they contolled most of the play throughout the rest of the game. Terra State started in a man to man defense, but then switched to a zone. When that happened, the Lakers got hot behind the strong play of Tyreke Johnson, Jonny Bowers, and Allen Sims. Lakeland controlled the inside play throughout the game to lead the team to victory.

Lakeland had 9 players score in total - 6 in double figures. Their balanced attack was led by Johnson's 17 points and Bower's 14 points. Sims finished the night with 13 points while Chris Richardson added 11 points. Julian Jackson and Jordan Burge each chipped in 10 points for the Lakers.

Bowe's Bytes: "We played well in spurts tonight. I'd like us to be more consistent on defense, but overall, we played pretty well. We had good pace and energy tonight. We need to turn the page now though as we have a tough road trip on Saturday at Clark State."

Next up:  The Lakers will travel to Clark State on Saturday to take on the Eagles in a 3:00 pm tilt. On Wednesday, 2/12, Lakeland returns home and plays host to Bryant & Stratton at 7:30 pm. Admission is free.
