The Lakers men's basketball team traveled to Cuyahoga on Wednesday and came out on the short end of a 77-69 decision. With the loss the Lakers fall to 18-7 overall and 8-2 in the conference. Cuyahoga improves to 18-8 overall and 7-3 in conference play. This was a difficult night for the Lakers from the floor as we started off shooting poorly and never really heated up throughout the entire game. Defensively, the Lakers played pretty well on the perimeter but could not contain the Triceratops under the boards. Cuyahoga continually outrebounded the Lakers  - especially on the offensive side - and as a result gave Tri-C many additional possessions which eventually led to points. The Lakers were also whistled for several offensive fouls throughout the game which changed the outlook of their offense. With 1:30 to play, this was still a close game - the Lakers were down 5 points. Despite decent looks, Lakeland was unable to convert and so fell to Tri-C. Official stats were not available at the time of print.

Chris Richardson and Tyreke Johnson each scored 13 points for the Lakers while Allen Sims added 9 points.

Bowe Bytes: "Our effort was decent tonight, we were just unable to hit the shots we normally make. A lot of offensive fouls changed the offensive flow for us. I felt we played fine defensively, but really just ggot beat up on the glass. Tip your hat to Cuyahoga as they played hard and had a good plan. We just need to regroup and come ready with a better effort on Saturday."

Next up: The Lakers will play host to Sinclair Community College on Saturday. Sophomores will be recognized prior to the game and a 3 pm tip is scheduled. Admission is free.
