Lakers clinch share of OCCAC title

The Lakers basketball team have clinched at least a share of the OCCAC title! On Saturday, the Lakers played host to the Sinclair Tartans and came away with a 93-71 victory. With the win, the Lakers improve to 19-7 overall and 9-2 in conference play. The Tartans fall to 14-14 and and 4-8 in conference play. This was a game the Lakers took control of early and maintained control of throughout the game. Lakeland's balanced approach gave them a 12 point (52-40) half time lead. The team approach continued in the secnd half and the Lakers finished with 6 different players scoring in double figures. Allen Sims led Lakeland with 16 points and 8 rebounds while Jonny Bowers finished with 14 pints and 8 boards. Julian Jackson and Jordan McMillian each scored 12 points while Tyreke Johnson finished with 11 points. Tyshaun Howard scored 10 points in the victory.

Bowe Bytes: "I felt we played well. We executed both the offensive and defensive game plans and had pretty good energy for most of the game. It was a very good crowd for both games which really helped. This was just a really good feeling today and it fires you up to want more. We can not become complacent next week though. We need to come in locked and ready to take care of business."

Next up: The Lakers will travel to Piqua next Saturday (2/29) to take on the Edison State Chargers. This will be their final regular season game of the season. Game time is scheduled for 3pm.
