The Lakers men's basketball team played host to Clark State College on Saturday and defeated the Eagles 89-68. With the win, Lakeland continues their undefeated season. They are currently sporting an 11-0 (2-0) record and are ranked 4th in the country in the NJCAA DII basketball poll. The first half finished with the Lakers leading 48-37. The score was much closer than the game as Lakeland seemed to be in control throughout. The Lakers came out strong in the second half and gained an early big lead. They were able to use their height to an  advantage as they controlled the boards and had several easy baskets. They also had a strong defensive effort in securing the win. Noah Berry and Chaze Harris led the team with 16 points each. Kyle Jackson finished with 14 points.

Players Perspective:

Kyle Jackson: "We started slow in the first half, but after coming back from a stretch of not playing, we definitely played together. We are getting back in the groove."

Noah Berry: "It was nice to get back after almost 2 weeks of not playing. Everyone on the team played together. We shared the ball and played selflessly."

Hunter's Highlights: "We didn't play our best game, played a little rusty, but we came away with the win. We dominated in the paint and our guys played tall."

Next Up: The Lakers play at Terra State against the Titans on Monday, 1/24. Tip off is at 7:00 p.m. This is the re-schedule of the 1/19 postponement.
