Men's basketball bounces Titans

The Lakers men's basketball team came out with a purpose tonight after suffering their first defeat of the season. Unfortunately, for the Terra State Titans, they were on the receiving end of a 115-53 decision for the Lakers. With the win, Lakeland improves to 17-1 (7-1).  The Lakers came out with high energy and intensity and quickly led 29-6 early in the first half. Lakeland did not take its' foot off the pedal for the rest of the half as their pressure defense and shooting on the night were both in good form. In the 2nd half, Lakeland kept up a strong defensive half court effort whil consistently running sets throughout much of the half. In the end, the Lakers were never really challenged and coasted to the victory.

Lakeland was led by Chaze Harris who scored 22 points. Datrey Long followed that with a strong effort while finishing with 20 points. Landon Tillman added 17 points for the Lakers and Kyle Jackson scored 12 points. Jaidon Lipscomb chipped in 11 points and Noah Berry finished with 7 points. In a night where every Laker scored, Blake Bluitt, Keith Germain, Marcos Vazquez, and Ansy Oulare each added 6 points.

Hunter's Highlights: "We came out with good intensity tonight. I was pleased with our overall effort and the energy we showed tonight. We'll get back at it tomorrow as we still have some tough games coming up."

Next Up: The Lakers will play host to the Hocking College Hawks on Monday (2/21). The Hawks handed Lakeland their only loss of the year last weekend in Hocking. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 pm.
