The Lakers men's basketball team didn't waste any time tonight. The Lakers jumped out to a double digit lead in the first 10 minutes of the game and never looked back. Lakeland finished the night with an 86-60 victory and improved their record to 19-1 (9-1). Earlier in the day, the Lakers also learned they moved up to 7th in the latest NJCAA polls. Lakeland played every player liberally and had a balanced attack. Every Laker scored in the first half of the game. Chaze Harris led the way; scoring 9 of his 17 points in the opening half. Kyle Jackson, not to be outdone, scored 8 points in the opening half, but finished with a team high 21 points. After taking the early lead, Lakeland cruised into the break with a 45-28 advantage. The second half was more of the same as the Lakers continued to play in business-like fashion. For the game, Noah Berry finished with 10 points while Datrey Long, EJ Hubbert, and JR Lumsden each scored 6 points. Blake Bluitt and Landon Tillman each chipped in 5 points for the Lakers as they coasted to the win.

T's Tidbits: "In the first half, we didn't play real well. We were a little sloppy at times. We cleaned it up a bit and played better in the second half which was good. It's tough to bounce back after the emotional win we had on Monday. Everyone was able to play and they all gained some good experience. It's time to clear that out though and get ready for the weeknd."

Next Up: On Saturday, the Lakers will travel to Springfield, Ohio to play the Clark State Eagles. On Sunday, they will play host to the Edison State Chargers. Both games are scheduled to tip at 3:00 pm.
