Lakers get shut out by Harford, 2-0

KIRTLAND, Ohio – Lakeland men's soccer had its chances to score but was unable to cash in as Harford Community College scored twice in the second half for a 2-0 victory Sunday afternoon.

With the loss, Lakeland's overall record falls to 2-3-2 and its Region XII record remains at 1-1-1.

Williams Batres (Cleveland) came off the bench and had a couple shots on goal while Kobie Gooding-Meade (Toronto, Ontario) and Cole Clausen (Conneaut) each had a scoring chance turned away.

Harford did outshoot Lakeland 20-7 and scored two goals in the final 30 minutes.

Lakeland will look to bounce back with a road game at Lorain County Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 4 p.m.
