Lakers fire more shots but still lose to Jackson, 1-0

JACKSON, Mich. – Lakeland men's soccer had plenty of chances to score but the goal came at the foot of a Jackson College player as the Lakers lost 1-0 Saturday night in a Region XII match.

With the loss, Lakeland falls to 5-6-2 overall and 2-4-1 in Region XII play.

Lakeland was able to fire 11 shots with seven of those shots landing on goal but was unable to score. Jackson scored early on in the 14th minute and that was enough to get the win.

Jacob Pereira Granato (Toronto, Ontario) made seven saves and kept Lakeland in the game after the early allowed goal.

Lakeland will look to get a split on the road trip with a game against Ancilla College on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. Ancilla is sitting at 6-2 after eight Region XII games.
