The Lakeland men's soccer team suffered their first loss of the year dropping a hard fought 2-1 decision to Muskegon Community College today. The Lakers carried the play early and had many opportunities to score early. Unfortunately, they were not able to finish and eventually faced a 1-0 deficit at the half. The Lakers again pressured the Jayhawks early in the second half and were rewarded by a goal by Suhong Jung. It was Jung's first goal of the season. Shortly after that, the Jayhawks scored the eventual game winner sending the Lakers to the loss.

Kettani's Quotes: "We had extremely strong chances to score early in the match and it just wasn't in our repertoire today. As those chances were lost, it gave the Jayhawks more opportunity to gain composure and confidence. We need to let this loss fall off our shoulders and get ready to play Lake Michigan."

Next up: The Lakers continue their road trip as they head to Lake Michigan College for a 1 pm match against the Red Hawks. Due to impending weather, the location has changed to St. Joseph HS,  2521 Stadium Drive, St. Joseph, Michigan 49085.
