Lakeland men's soccer scores 1-0 victory in semi's
The Lakeland men's soccer team won a thrilling 1-0 double overtime game against Jackson Community College on Saturday in the Regional semi-finals. The winning goal came with just 75 seconds left in the second OT. If the time had expired, the game would have gone to a shootout. The game winning shot was hit by Matt Dobson as he struck a free kick from 19 yards out. Throughout the game, Lakeland carried much of the play as they outshot Jackson 22-9 and held a 6-3 advantage in corners. Despite those advantages, they could not break through until Dobson's golden goal. The weather conditions wrecked havoc on the game as the temperatures were in the 30's with a lot of wind and a mixture of snow and rain.

Kettani Quotes: "Hard fought game in very rough conditions. The team fitness kicked in. I give credit to both assistant coach Dave and our speed and strength coach Eric for keeping the team super fit all year. Jackson fought all game. Having Jake back in the pipes helped us immensely. He was the man of the watch for us."

Next up: The Lakeland men's soccer team will take on Muskegon Community College on Sunday (11/3) at Grand Haven HS in Grand Haven, MI. in the Regional Finals. Game time is scheduled for 2:30 pm.
