The Lakeland men's soccer team traveled to Donaldson, IN today to face off against Region XII foe Marian University Ancilla. Unfortunately for the Lakers, they had a tough start as they gave up two early goals. Lakeland regained it's footing and started to control the game with possession and scoring opportunities for the rest of the half, but were unable to convert any scoring chances and went into the break trailing 2-0. In the second half, Lakeland continued to control the pace of play and the ball as they looked to get on the board. As the minutes wound down, Lakeland had to take a few more chances to try and score. Those efforts helped lead to the Charges taking advantage of Lakeland on counterattacks as Ancilla netted 2 more goals. The Lakers fell by a final of 4-0.

Ty's Talk: "The score was not indicative of the match. Our team played well and had a great effort and attitude. Credit Ancilla though as they are a good team and just had a couple players out wide with good speed. Despite the long trip, we battled, just couldn't crack their defense. We need to put this behind us quickly as we face another good team tomorrow."
Next Up: The Lakers will travel to Muskegon Community College tomorrow (10/26) where they will face off against the Jayhawks. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
