The Lakeland women's basketball team beat the Eric CC Kats for the second time in a week on Saturday by a score of 94-45. With the win, Lakeland's record improves to 4-1 while the Kats record falls to 0-6. This game was never in doubt as Lakeland jumped out to a 30-13 1st quarter lead and then never looked back. The Lakers forced the Kats into 34 turnovers and had every player score - including five different players in double digits. Armani Jackson (20 points/9 rebounds) and Rayonna Peterson (19 points/7 rebounds) led the way for Lakeland. Selah Richardson and Makayla Cooper each scored 14 points while Gianna Pegoraro chipped in 13 points.
Gardy's Gab: "I was pleased with the way we jumped out in the first quarter. We were able to keep a fairly consistent effort throughout. It was a productive trip for us, but we need to keep working to improve."
Next up: Lakeland travels to Lorain County on Wednesday (11/20) for a 5:30 pm tip. They will then travel to Hocking College on Saturday (11/23) for a 1 pm game before returning home on Tuesday (11/26) to play Mercyhurst NE at 5:30 pm. Admission is free.
