Lady Lakers topple Titans

The Lady Lakers played host to the Terra State Titans this evening and came away with a convincing 74-45 victory. With the win, the Lakers record now stands at 9-7 (5-4). Lakeland got off to a fast start as they took a 21-12 lead at the end of the first quarter, a lead they would never relinquish. Shar'Da Williamson led the way with 9 points in the first quarter including shooting 5-8 from the line. Madison Fueger also picked up 6 points to help spark the Lakers. Lakeland continued to maintain control of the game in the second quarter. In a balanced scoring attack, Fueger, Elisha Quinn, and Brandy Smith each scored 4 points. Lakeland owned the 3rd quarter outscoring the Titans 18-9 before cruising to the victory. Williamson finished with a game high 26 points while Quinn added 20 points. Fueger scored 11 points and Destiny Khay chipped in 9 points. 

Gardy's Gab: "I was really pleased with the overall team effort. We've had a couple of good days of practice and it really carried over into the game which was good to see. We will keep working as we have another tough road game on Saturday."

Next Up: The Lady Lakers will travel to Toledo on Saturday to face the Owens Community College Express. Game time is 1 pm.
