The Lady Lakers traveled to Clark State on Saturday and rolled to a 72-45 victory over the Eagles. With the win, the Lakers improve to 11-9 (7-6) on the season. The victory assures the Lakers of at least a 3rd place finish in the conference. If they finish with the same record as Hocking College, then they will be a four-seed in the tournament based on the conference tie-break rules. The seed would assure them of a home game on Tuesday evening in the first round of the tournament. Their opponent is dependent on the weekend results in the conference.

The Lakers started quickly as they jumped out to a 23-10 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Madison Fueger and Shar'Da Williamson led the way scoring 8 points each in the opening frame. The Lakers never looked back as they had leads of 20 points at the half, 30 points at the end of the 3rd quarter, before finishing with the 37 point win.

Every player scored for Lakeland. Fueger led all scorers with 18 points while Williamson finished with 14 points. Elisha Quinn added 10 points for Lakeland while Destiny Khay and Hailey Davis each scored 9 points. Arion Brown finished with 8 points in the win.

Gardy's Gab: "We came out ready to play in the 1st quarter. We were able to establish Maddy in the post. She's playing like a sophomore averaging 19 ppg the last 3 games. Shar'Da also had a strong first half; however, it was our team defense that really changed the game. I was pleased to see Hailey hit some threes. This was a nice bounce-back win after a tough Wednesday game. We played hard when we could have hung our heads. I'm proud of the team. We have to turn this one over quickly as we have a tough out tomorrow."

Next Up: The Lakers will play host to the Edison State Chargers tomorrow. Sophomores will be recognized briefly before the game. game time is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
