The short-handed Lakeland women's basketball team traveled to St. Clair County to face the NJCAA's 14th-ranked Skippers today in non-league action. The teams faced off 2 weeks ago and had a very competitive game at Lakeland. Since then, the Lakers have been besieged by injuries and illness and so were unable to muster a sustained effort against a very good Skipper team. The Lakers fell by a score of 100-41. Da'Vionna Singleton led Lakeland with 13 points while Monetta Hilory added 12 points and 5 rebounds. Jai'Lynne Hitt-Swartz recorded 8 points while Nitzy Rios chipped in 6 points and 4 rebounds. Monica Devine picked up a basket and a team high 7 rebounds for the Lakers.
Next Up: Lakeland has a quick turnaround as they travel to Jamestown to face the Jayhawks on Tuesday (12/3). Tip off is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
