Lakers fall to Muskegon
The Lakeland women's soccer team traveled to Muskegon today and dropped a 5-0 decision to the Jayhawks.  With the loss, Lakeland fell to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in conference play. In this back and forth affair, Muskegon carried much of the play as they outshot  the Lakers 25-14 and carried a 5-3 advantage in corners. The game was fairly even for the first 20 minutes before the Jayhawks broke through scoring on a corner kick. Michell Molina led the team with 4 shots while Denver Falz and Kyley Molea each recorded 3 each.
 
Sivik's Sentiments: "Muskegon is a talented team. We had a great opportunity to learn about ourselves today. I was very pleased with the first 20 minutes of the second half. We were able to refocus and have some on field success."
 
Next up: The Lady Lakers continue their road trip as they head to Lake Michigan College for an 11 am match against the Red Hawks. Due to impending weather, the location has changed to St. Joseph HS, 2521 Stadium Drive, St. Joseph, Michigan 49085.
