Lady Lakers fall to Jets

The Lakeland women's soccer team lost a 2-0 decision to Jackson Community College on Saturday. With the loss, Lakeland falls to 8-2 and 5-2 in conference play. The Lakers played this game with a short bench as a few starters were out with injury.
Jackson took advantage early as they pressured Lakeland with several quality scoring opportunities. Sophomore Erica Wayts was equal to the task making several outstanding saves including a penalty kick.
The Jets broke through 10 minutes into the second half as they scored on a 1v1 and tucked it into the corner. Twenty minutes later the Jets added another putting in a rebound.  The Jets outshot the Lakers 20-7 on the day. Wayts totaled 16 saves on the day.

Next up: The Lakers continue their home stretch as they host Ancilla College on Saturday, 10/12, at Lost Nation in Willoughby. Game time is 11am and admission is free.
