The women's soccer team played host to the Owens Express today on Laker Field and dropped a tough 8-0 decision. On a hot day, the Lakers would play with a short bench and so were unable to mount sustained pressure against the Express. The teams would play even until the Express scored their first goal with just under 29 minutes to play in the half. The Express would add two more before a final goal with just 17 seconds to play before the break. The Lakers were playing a defensive scheme that allowed them to defend well, but eventually the team fell to the Express pressure. Zaria Friedrichsen was strong in net making 9 saves.

Players of the Game: Lily Schiemann, Lillyan Agostine, Josalyn Abrams, and Zaria Friedrichsen

Next Up: On Sunday (9/15), the Lakers will travel to Schoolcraft College to face the Ocelots in a 2:00 pm match.
