Women's soccer tripped up by Skippers

The Lakeland women's soccer team traveled to St. Clair County CC in Port Huron, MI to play a Region XII game against the Skippers.The day got off to a rough start for the Lakers as they were traveling shorthanded due to a recent number of injuries. The injuries, combined with an extended trip due to construction, had  the Lakers arriving late to the field and put Lakeland in a difficult spot to start the game. The Skippers jumped on Lakeland early as they scored a pair of goals 12 minutes into the game. Though Lakeland tried to battle back, The Skippers were able to control the play and went on to beat Lakeland 8-0.

Zaria Friedrichsen was credited with 23 saves in the defeat. 

Players of the Game: Lily Schiemann, Ryley Woodworth, Josalyn Abrams, and Gabrielle Carley.

Mallon's Mentions: "Credit to St. Clair as they are a very good offensive team. We had a very disappointing start to the game. We were able to regroup and play a decent second half, but it was just a tough day overall."

Next Up: The Lakers will face the Commodores of Lorain County on Monday (10/21) at Laker Field in their final home game of the season. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
