The Lakeland volleyball team traveled to Springfield to take on the Clark State Eagles on Saturday. Unfortunately for the Lady Lakers, they came up short in a hard fought 3-2 loss to the Clark State Eagles. The scores were 25-21, 17-25, 19-25, 25-18, and 10-15. With the loss, the Lakers dropped to 4-15, 2-9. This is the second time this season that Lakers have fell to the Eagles in 5 games. Lakeland showed great effort in this match after starting out with a win and then dropping the next two games. The Lakers kept battling and were able to force the decisive fifth game. Sarah Miozzi led the way with 9 serving aces and 29 assists.
Miozzi Mentions: "The team played with a lot of energy. Charriel tried to keep the energy up, but we fell a little short. The whole team played well with energy and focus."
Next up: The Lakers play host to Columbus State on Wednesday. Earlier this season, Columbus State beat the Lakers in a tight 3-2 match. The rematch time has been slightly adjusted and is now scheduled to start at 6:15 pm. Admission is free.
