Lakers volleyball neutralized by Chargers

The Lakers volleyball team traveled to Piqua, OH on Friday and took a tough loss to the Edison State Chargers by a score of 3-0 (15-25, 8-25, 12-25). Unfortunately for Lakeland, this match seemed to mirror some of their most recent efforts. The Lakers keep giving a good effort, but also continue to make too many unforced errors.  The second game in particular was a microcosm of their most recent play. Despite effort, the Lakers committed 9 early unforced errors to put them in a 9-1 hole; a deficit that they could not overcome.

Kelly Ponzani (Wickliffe), Anna Lewis (Mentor), and Mia Eckliff (Mentor) were all mentioned for their good play throughout the match.

Miozzi Mentions: "We played hard, but just made too many mistakes. Mia (Eckliff) did a nice job setting and Anna (Lewis) played well in the middle. Kelly (Ponzani) stepped in to play the libero and did a nice job at the position. We've got to focus more and elimiate the mistakes."

Next Up: The Lakers will play host to the Clark State Eagles tomorrow at 11am in Laker gym.
